Fourth Hand is an iOS app that provides AI-powered bicycle repair guidance, photo-based help, and account-based usage tracking. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have when you use the app.
Information We Collect
We may collect:
- account information such as your email address and basic sign-in information when you create an account or sign in with Apple or Google;
- content you provide, including chat messages, bike questions, and photos you upload for diagnosis or part identification;
- usage information such as message counts, image counts, subscription status, purchase-related status fields, and settings needed to provide the service;
- limited technical and security information needed to operate the app, authenticate your account, and protect the service.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and manage your account;
- provide AI repair assistance and photo analysis;
- track free and paid usage limits and subscription access;
- improve app reliability, safety messaging, and support;
- respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service.
Third-Party Services
Fourth Hand relies on third-party providers to operate core parts of the service:
- Firebase / Google for authentication, account storage, and app data infrastructure;
- OpenAI for AI-generated repair guidance and image analysis when you send messages or upload photos;
- Apple for App Store distribution, subscription billing, and in-app purchase processing;
- Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple when you choose those login methods.
We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can request account deletion from within the app settings. When you delete your account, Fourth Hand deletes your account records and associated app data from our systems, subject to any legal retention requirements and limited operational delays. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription, which must be managed through Apple.
Your Choices
You can choose whether to create an account, whether to upload photos, and whether to continue using paid features. You may also contact us if you need help with your account or have questions about your data.
Children
Fourth Hand is not intended for children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we may update the date below and provide notice inside the app when appropriate.
